Simultaneous exhaust air operation with heating units
Ambient air dependent heating units (e.g. gas, oil, wood or coal operated heating devices, continuous flow heaters, water heaters) obtain combustion air from the installation room and route the exhaust gases outside via an exhaust gas system (e.g. chimney).
If the cooktop extractor is used in exhaust air operation, the ambient air is taken from the installation room and the neighbouring rooms. Without sufficient supply air, a vacuum will occur.
Toxic gases from the chimney or extraction duct will be pumped back into the living areas. This applies to both ambient air dependent and ambient air independent heating units. The window contact switch guarantees that the cooktop extractor can only be operated in the case of sufficient fresh air supply.

Window contact switch
The BORA window contact switch UFKS ensures sufficient fresh air supply in the kitchen, when operating an extractor device in the immediate vicinity of an ambient air independent heating unit. A sensor in the window casement monitors whether the window is open or closed and sends this information to the recipient via radio which is connected to the home-in interface of the relevant BORA cooktop extractor. In this way, it is ensured that the installed extractor system can only be operated if the window is open. Therefore, the risk of a vacuum in the room is prevented. The BORA window contact switch is suitable for BORA Professional, BORA Classic 2.0, BORA Classic, BORA Basic and BORA Pure. The connection must be carried out by a professional electrician.
